University At Buffalo Masterplan
Back To Projects
Re-imagining the physical campuses, supporting UB’s mission as a driver of a 21st-century western NY knowledge based economy.
UB currently has two full campuses and an assortment of properties around Buffalo. The institution provided an overall vision statement, strategic considerations and six guiding principles to serve as a basis for a new master plan. The design team was charged to think through how a growing faculty and student enrollment fueling UB’s drive for academic excellence could physically impact the campuses, surrounding communities and the region beyond. The resulting ‘ working’ physical plan seeks to create public spaces that will act as a nexus of both campus and community life.
Design generated while Splice principal was employed at Beyer Blinder Belle. The design team included Andropogon Associates, Foit-Albert Associates, DEGW and VFA.
