Challenge: Create a world class automobile cultural center with four functions – exhibition, information exchange, brand promotion, education & entertainment.
Solution: In support of preparation for the 2008 Olympics, the Beijing Municipal Government desired an Expo Center as a part of the 60 primary projects to be developed for the city. The auto expo is conceived as a park, relief to the relentless growth of the city. Complimenting a network of urban parks, thought of as ‘green Beijing’, it allows for growth of industry in the city. The serpentine belts of landscape and berms establish a streamline field that can later be populated by a network of individual brand and sales centers, a museum of automotive history, theaters and office buildings.
